Tour Summary

This full day guided tour combines the diverse beauty of the subalpine terrain in the Olympic Mountains at Hurricane Ridge, with lush, towering old-growth forests and a waterfall at Lake Crescent. The tour begins with a scenic 45 minute drive from sea level in Port Angeles to 5,242 feet elevation atop Hurricane Ridge. On a clear day, Hurricane Ridge provides a front-row view of the Bailey Range in the interior Olympic Mountains and an ocean view of the Strait of Juan De Fuca with Vancouver Island and the San Juan Islands in the background. Our 2-3 mile guided hike will feature sweeping vistas of the glacier-capped Olympics, forested river valleys, and subalpine meadows. After allocating time for a picnic lunch, our group will spend the remainder of the afternoon at Lake Crescent. This glacier-fed lake is one of the iconic landmarks of Olympic National Park and features a beautiful 2 mile hike to Marymere Falls in its surrounding old-growth forests, plus additional hiking as time permits.
