Quick Summary
During the summer season, Olympic Hiking Co. offers a daily 11:30 AM group trailhead shuttle from the Rialto Beach trailhead to the Ozette and Shi Shi trailheads for backpackers hiking the North Olympic Wilderness Coast. Tide permitting, we recommend parking at the Rialto Beach Trailhead by 11:00 AM for our 11:15 AM check-in, and then catching the 11:30 AM shuttle to Ozette/Shi Shi at the start of your trip. This allows you to hike back to your vehicle at Rialto at your own pace. If the 11:30 AM timing does not work, we have custom shuttles available upon request.

Need a Rialto to Shi Shi Shuttle?
If you would like a shuttle from Rialto Beach to the Shi Shi Beach trailhead, please book the 11:30 AM Rialto to Ozette shuttle and select “Add to Cart” for the 1:30 PM Ozette to Shi Shi shuttle during checkout. There is no charge for the additional shuttle. It helps us manage headcount for the two shuttles. Thank you!

The scheduled time slots may vary based on existing bookings each day.
We highly recommend passengers to book the trailhead shuttle at the beginning of the trip, as it is much easier to coordinate versus managing an exit date and time.
Solo passenger? To cover costs of labor, fuel, and insurance, we require a $150 minimum booking to open a new shuttle reservation. Accordingly, for the first booking for a particular shuttle route, a solo hiker will need to book 2 tickets to start a new reservation. If other passengers join your shuttle, you can email us after the trip and we will refund you the individual ticket. When you finish the online booking, please type in “solo hiker” in the reservation comments, as this is helpful for us in managing our passenger headcount.
Additional Information
This trailhead shuttle provides transportation for backpackers from Rialto Beach to the Ozette Trailhead in Olympic National Park. It is roughly a 1 hour 45 minute drive. Our passenger check-in will be at the Rialto Beach backpackers parking lot, which is to the left at the fork, whereas the day-use parking lot is to the right. Please arrive early as the parking lot can typically be full during the busier summer months. You can book this 11:30 AM shuttle from Rialto to Ozette at the beginning of your trip, allowing you to hike back to your vehicle at the Rialto Beach backpackers parking lot. Or you can park at the Ozette Ranger Station backpacker parking lot and catch this 11:30 AM Rialto to Ozette shuttle back to your vehicle at the end of your trip. We recommend to backpackers to arrange the shuttle at the beginning of the trip if possible, so you don’t have to stress about timing an exact exit date and time during your hiking trip, especially with the tide schedules.
