A moderate day hike along a backcountry loop

Overview

Deer Lake is located at the 4-mile mark along the 19-mile Seven Lakes Basin Loop in the Sol Duc Valley. It is a popular moderate day hike for those wanting additional mileage beyond Sol Duc Falls (0.8 mile trail) and a great overnight wilderness campsite for those doing the Seven Lakes Basin Loop. After the iconic Sol Duc Falls, the hike leads you through towering old-growth forests and several scenic creek bridge crossings, until reaching a sweeping landscape view of Deer Lake.
