The Northern Edge of the Olympics

Overview

Atop the Klahhane Ridge, you can enjoy unobstructed 360 degree views of the Strait of Juan De Fuca to the North, the interior Olympic Mountains to the South, and subalpine beauty everywhere in between. Klahhane Ridge is accessible from three trailheads. The most time efficient, but steepest option is the 1.6 mile switchback trail to the Ridge. The second option is a 3.8 mile trek from the Visitor Center via Sunrise Ridge (which joins the switchback trail at the 0.5 mile mark). The third is to ascend from Lake Angeles (6.5 miles) or Heather Park (6.4 miles), which both start from the Heart of the Hills trailhead parking lot, or hike Klahhane Ridge to complete the 13 mile loop.
